The Genesis of Shastrang: A Modern Indian Martial Art

After a long span of career in martial arts, he was in the process of thinking to improvise the level of training. Martial art has been originated from India only. He took an initiative for the development of the culture by integrating Yoga for fitness. He put Yoga Asanas in warm-up and cool-down exercises to show an imprint of our culture.

To improvise the level of technique, he developed more advanced techniques which he was lacking in other martial arts. The techniques are more practical for improving self-defense skills and memorization for children. He developed “Shastrang” as a new form of holistic martial art. The word has been derived from Sanskrit: ‘Shastra’ means ‘Weapon’ and ‘Ang means ‘Body’ which means ‘body as a weapon’. The concept is modern but by taking our culture along with. So, it is an Indian modern martial art for health and fitness. The basic commands are also in Sanskrit.

He wants to promote practical self-defense for women and children. His motivational theories about martial art refresh the young blood those who fall in bad company.
