Shastrang means “A body becomes weapon”. This word is derived from “Sanskrit” such as “Shastra means “weapon” and “Ang” means “body”. The word signifies its meaning, Shastrang founded by Grandmaster Bikram S.Thapa 9th Degree blck belt on 30th March, 2019. It states that- in case of hostile situation, use body as a weapon to protect someone. Body acts as a weapon for self-protection from various ailments:-
Shastrang was developed by Grandmaster Bikram S. Thapa after using his extensive personal knowledge and experience of various martial arts together with relevant scientific principles. After a long span of career in martial arts, he was in the process of thinking to improvise the level of training of martial arts. Martial art has been originated from India only. India is enriched with great holy culture and even foreigners also started adopting it. He took an initiative for the development of the culture. Yoga is a key to improve one’s fitness. It shows imprint of our culture. Now-a-days, it is being taught across all over the country. In keeping the view, he put Yoga Asanas in warm-up and cool-down exercises. . He has put approx. 14 asanas in warm-up. Cool down exercises have been divided into two parts. First part contains 13 asanas and second part contains 27 asanas. To improvise the level of technique, he developed more advanced techniques which he was lacking in other martial arts. The techniques are more practical for improving self defense skills and memorization of children. The techniques have been systematic according to the belt rank. He developed “Shastrang” as a new form of martial art. So, it is an Indian modern martial art. The basic commands are in Sanskrit.

Our training is based on individual needs, capabilities, skill levels and age. There is no age bar to learn this martial art. One can improve his health at any age. Since our primary goals are to prevent or reduce illness and disease and to promote optimum health and longevity by minimizing degeneration of body and mind, we also welcome those with limitations.
